Whenever Central Government offices are closed, the CSD Canteen offices, related service offices, Depots, and URC canteens follow suit and remain closed. Additionally, the Central Committee annually releases the holiday list for all Central Government offices located within each state region.

Boasting a network of approximately 3700 Unit Run Canteens (URC) and 34 Depots scattered across the country, CSD adheres strictly to the holiday guidelines stipulated by the Department of Personnel and Training.
Enforcement of the weekly off days falls under the jurisdiction of regional CSD offices, while both Depots and URCs generally commence operations between 9:00 am and 9:30 am, wrapping up at 5:30 pm for Depots and extending services till 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for URCs, providing customers with the flexibility of evening shopping. This operational schedule is designed to accommodate URC staff with extended lunch breaks, enhancing customer service and overall satisfaction.
