Pay Levels 3 to 5 for Armed Forces Personnel & Widows

Members of the armed forces, both active and retired, along with eligible widows, are classified under pay levels 3 to 5. They can access a budget of Rs. 8 Lakhs, not including taxes, while for electric vehicles, the allowable cost is up to Rs. 13 Lakhs, also excluding taxes. Each individual is permitted to acquire four vehicles in their lifetime, with the first purchase allowed after completing five years of service.

There must be an eight-year interval between the purchases of consecutive cars. In the case of pensioner widows or next of kin, they may buy vehicles from the quota that the individual did not utilize. However, if the individual had already purchased four cars prior to their passing, they forfeit this entitlement. The eight-year gap between vehicle acquisitions remains applicable.

Pay Levels 6 to 9 for Armed Forces Personnel & Widows

Active and retired Armed Forces members, along with eligible widows, can access vehicle benefits at Pay Levels 6 to 9. The financial limit for car purchases stands at Rs.10 Lakhs, excluding taxes, while for electric vehicles, the cap is set at Rs.15 Lakhs, also excluding taxes. Each individual may acquire up to five vehicles throughout their lifetime, with the first purchase permitted after completing five years of service.

A minimum interval of eight years is required between the acquisition of two cars. Additionally, widows of pensioners or next of kin can utilize any unused car quota of the deceased. However, if the individual had already purchased five vehicles prior to passing, no further entitlement exists. The eight-year gap between car purchases still applies.

Pay Levels 10 to 18 for Armed Forces Personnel & Widows

Members of the Armed Forces, both active and retired, along with eligible widows, are entitled to a pay scale ranging from Level 10 to 18. The financial limit is set at Rs. 20 Lakhs, not including taxes, while for electric vehicles, the cap is Rs. 25 Lakhs, also excluding taxes. This benefit can be availed once every eight years.

Pay Level 10 to 18 for Civilian Officers & Family Pensioners

Active and Retired Civilian Officers (Funded Through Defence Budgets) in Pay Levels 10 to 18 (Including Family Pension Recipients). A sum of Rs.20 Lakhs, not including taxes (For Electric Vehicles, the cost limit is Rs.25 Lakhs, excluding taxes). Applicable once every eight years.

AFD CSD Eligibility of Bike, AC, WM & Laptop

Qualifications For Additional AFD-I Items (Such As) Motorcycles/ Air Conditioners/ Refrigerators/ Washing Machines/ Laptops/ Desktop Computers, Etc.

  • Televisions: Up to two TVs can be acquired within four years.
  • Air Conditioners: Four ACs can be obtained over four years.
  • Other AFD-I Products (Excluding Cars): Remains unchanged (One every four years) from the previous purchase date.

CSD Canteen Smartcard Holders: AFD-I Eligibility Guide

The following groups of canteen smartcard holders are permitted to acquire additional AFD-I items:

  • Current and retired members of the Armed Forces – Pay Level 1 To 18
  • Active and retired Defence Civilian Employees – Pay Level 1 To 18
  • Family Pensioners of Defence Civilians – Pay Level 1 To 18
  • A minimum interval of four years is required between the purchase of the same item or two-wheeler from the date of the last acquisition
  • Only one category of AFD-I items can be purchased at a time, adhering to the time as mentioned earlier gap
