RTO Lakshadweep 2024: In 1990, Lakshadweep saw the formation of its Department of Road Transport. Within these picturesque islands, the Motor Vehicle Inspector plays a vital role as the Licensing Authority and also acts as the Registration Authority in Kavaratti. Furthermore, on each island, the Sub Divisional Officers or Deputy Collectors are given the additional duty of serving as the ex-officio Registration Authority for vehicles.
To foster the use of Battery Operated Two Wheelers and Four Wheelers, a substantial subsidy of 15% will be offered. In a bid to support E-Rikshaws, an impressive 50% subsidy will be available, capped at a maximum of Rs. 50,000.
