RTO Ladakh 2024: The responsibility of delivering safe, efficient, and budget-friendly transportation services in the region lies with the Ladakh Transport Department. Since February 2019, Ladakh has become a Union Territory, breaking away from its former association with the Kashmir Division. The unique registration mark for vehicles in Ladakh is represented by the letters ‘LA’.
Leading this department is the Commissioner/Secretary, who is assisted by the Regional Transport Officer and the Assistant Regional Transport Officers based in Leh and Kargil. Interestingly, Ladakh has just one Regional Transport Office (RTO) and two Assistant Regional Transport Offices (ARTO). The main RTO is located in Bemathang, Baroo, Kargil, Ladakh-194103, while the two ARTOs are positioned in Leh-194104 and Kargil-194103.
