Every Motor Vehicle Has a Unique Code

Discover the RTO Code List for the year 2024! With distinctive code numbers adorning the plates of every vehicle, you have the power to observe and identify all motor vehicles in your vicinity, whether they be private or commercial. These coded plates conceal a wealth of information that only a select few, such as government officials or law enforcement, can swiftly access to unveil the ownership details of any given vehicle.

The State Government of Telangana has just revealed their decision to modify the vehicle registration code in the area. They have transitioned from the old TS code to the fresh TG code. This adjustment in the registration code structure is intended to simplify administrative procedures and improve the accuracy of vehicle identification for those registered in the state.

Format of Indian Vehicle Number Plate

In India, the number plates on vehicles vary based on their classification, be it private, commercial, or government-owned. These distinct number plate designs serve as a quick way to identify the vehicle’s owner and are vital for maintaining order on the roads. Currently, there are eight different types of number plates in use throughout the country, each tailored to a specific vehicle category.

For instance, private vehicles have black characters on a white background, while commercial vehicles sport yellow letters and numbers on a yellow backdrop. Electric personal vehicles display white characters on a yellow plate, whereas electric commercial vehicles feature yellow characters on a white plate. Self-rental vehicles stand out with their yellow characters on a black plate.

Newly registered vehicles receive temporary number plates with red backgrounds, usually made of paper and valid for 30 days. The number plates for Defense Forces vehicles include an arrow symbol, with black characters set against a black background for easy recognition. These diverse number plate designs are essential for efficient traffic management and effective vehicle identification across India’s vast landscape.
